How do I open an account?

 

Opening an account with CHS Hedging is easy:
1. Select your account type.

2. Print and complete the account documentation – be sure to sign and date all required areas.

3. Return completed documents to CHS Hedging by mail, email or fax.

4. You must include a copy of the account owner(s)’ driver’s license(s) with your new account documents.

Important Note: The attempted use of financial institutions in the global marketplace to launder money is a significant problem that has caused great concern in the international and domestic community. This has resulted in the passage of strict laws and increased penalties for money laundering worldwide. These laws have been extended to include other financial institutions including stand-alone Futures Commission Merchants (FCM). As CHS Hedging is an FCM, we have been required to establish an anti-money laundering compliance program. As part of our compliance program, we are now required to obtain additional information to verify the identity of all potential customers. For individual, partnership and joint accounts this will require a copy of all of the individuals' driver's license(s) or state identification card(s) that have ownership in the account.

What features are currently included in Chēta Mobile?

What devices does Chēta Mobile work on?

 

Chēta Mobile currently works on all Apple iOS devices using iOS 4.3 or greater, and Android™ devices running version 2.2 or greater.  Chēta Mobile currently works on tablets running OS versions, but it is not specifically designed for their screen size.  CHS Hedging will be addressing enhancements for tablet devices in a future release. 

How do I install Chēta Mobile?

 

Chēta Mobile is available in the Apple app store and Google Play app store. Find it by searching for "Cheta” or “CHS Hedging." 

How do I login to Chēta Mobile?

 

Chēta Mobile uses the same login as web-based Chēta application.  If you do not remember your username and password, contact CHS Hedging support at 800-814-0505.  If you are requesting access as a new user, you must have a CHS Hedging account and work with your broker for approval.  You can log in to Chēta Mobile and Chēta at the same time or run multiple mobile devices at the same time (phone and tablet). 

What if I get a new phone or want to uninstall Chēta Mobile?

 

Chēta Mobile can be deleted like any other application on your device.  The app itself stores no information on the phone other than your quote page setup and the user name if "Remember User Name" is turned on, so there is no chance that sensitive information will be left on your device when you remove the app.  Moving Chēta Mobile to a new device is as simple as installing it on the new device and logging in with your current user name.  All account permissions will be identical on the new device, but you will have to reconfigure your quote page setup.

Is the information secure in Chēta Mobile?

 

Yes. Chēta Mobile uses 128-bit SSL encryption for all data being transmitted back and forth to the CHS Hedging servers.  At no point is sensitive information like a Social Security number or Tax ID ever transmitted, and your password is never stored in the application.  The app has a session timer that expires with no activity, so if your phone is lost or stolen, the app cannot be reopened without your password. 

Will I receive notifications on my phone for Chēta Mobile orders I entered?

 

Chēta Mobile uses push notification for fills, rejects and other order updates. This includes notifications for any orders you enter on Chēta Mobile, and soon all orders entered on Chēta as well, using the same login.  Push notifications can be turned off for Chēta Mobile in your notifications settings on your device. 

How do I refresh data in Chēta Mobile?

 

All top-level grid screens on Chēta Mobile have "pull to refresh" functionality.  To refresh the screen, continue to scroll up past the top record, triggering the "pull to refresh" functionality. Alternatively, you can tap the icon for the screen you are currently on to refresh that screen.  If you are using your phone in landscape mode, "pull to refresh" functionality does not work and you will have to use the screen icon refresh method.  On detail screens, there are refresh buttons on the top right corner of the screen. 

Why am I not seeing a specific order on the Chēta Mobile order log?

 

To keep communication as light as possible, Chēta Mobile currently only requests the top 50 records from your available orders.  By default, orders are sorted by activity time, so if you have a large order book and are looking for an order from yesterday or a previous trading session, it may not be there. In order to view anything beyond the most recent 50 records, you will need to set a filter with some specific details to search for the order, filtering on product, account, status, order type, etc.  Your filter will return the top 50 records that match your filtered values. 

Does Chēta Mobile currently support spreads?

 

It does not currently support spreads; however, we are working to add them into a later release.  There are no spread quotes or spread order entry in the current application.  You can pull up spread orders and cancel them from your order log, but you will not be able to modify the orders in any other way. 

Why is the Chēta Mobile application running so slowly for me?

 

Most likely because you are in a bad coverage area for your cell phone. Chēta Mobile will work fastest on a wireless connection, but when using your cell network, it will perform poorly on a bad connection. 

Will Chēta Mobile get more other features?

 

Chēta Mobile will continue to be improved upon going forward, with new features and technology based directly on the feedback of our customers.  If you feel strongly about a specific feature that would make the application better, or if there is something that just doesn't work for you in the current app, please let us know.
